Sachem's Message
SACHEMS MESSAGE - Sep 04, 2015

Hope you had a chance to get in out of the cold, come into the warm, visit with old friends and meet a few new ones at your lodge during the cold winter months. If not, we sure missed you and have many reasons for you to join us over the summer.

An event not to be missed is the Flag Day flag retirement ceremony in the pavilion on June 13 at 1:00 p.m. We’ll have a guest speaker, help from many local Honor and Color Guards, the Red Men Flag Ritual Team, with help of the Boy Scouts to give proper retirement to your worn flags. Bring your family and neighbors out for the function. Come early for music by the

Williamsport Community Band.

Your House Committee has many events planned for the summer: bar bingo, bargain nights, DJ’s, bands, crab feeds, shrimp feed and the ever popular Gun Bonanza is back! Come out to support the club and thank the committee for all their hard work. Without them we would not have all these fun social events to enjoy.

Don’t forget to support the internal clubs. They have many activities planned. A golf tournament for Alzheimer’s, horseshoe tournaments, Red Men Riders hog roast/bonanza, NASCAR trips, Dart League and Shuffleboard events. Check at the front desk and bulletin board to keep up with their events.

Our Pocahontas Council continues to grow stronger. Like the Tribe, we are always looking for our members to come to the meeting and get involved. Red Men Tribe meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7:00 p.m. and Red Feather Council meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Once again, I call out to you for help. We can always use more volunteers. It’s a great way to meet new people while helping out YOUR Red Men Club. Without you, the members, the club would not be the success it is.

Please check the web site www.redmentribe84.com, the newsletter and e-mails to see what we have in store for YOU. I still invite your suggestions, complaints and compliments at my e-mail address:2015redmen@gmail.com.

Yours in Freedom, Friendship & Charity,

Carliss Eby.

How to become a member of Red Feather Council #59 - Jun 25, 2015

How to become a member of

 Red Feather Council #59

Degree of Pocahontas

You must be sponsored by a Red Feather Council #59 member in good standing (which means that their dues are paid). That Red Feather member needs to attend a Red Feather meeting (The 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm) to receive an application to sponsor a person for adoption(to become a new member). The application is to be filled and signed by the person wanting to become a member and include a non refundable application fee of $25.00. The Red Feather sponsor also must sign the application.

When you application for membership is turned into the Keeper of Records it is read on the floor and sent to an investigating committee, then at the next meeting your application is voted on and if your application is elected you will receive a letter given you a date and time to come to a meeting to be obligated. This could take up to 2 months.

We have a limited number of applications to give out each year.

Any questions call;

Jo Ellen Swartz, PGP at 301-223-8839.

I work, so I will return your call as soon as I can.
