Sachem's Message
SACHEMS MESSAGE - Aug 29, 2014

A Message from your Sachem
Hope you had a chance to get in out of the cold, come into the warm, visit with old friends and meet a few new ones at your lodge during the cold winter months. If not, we sure
missed you and have many reasons for you to join us over the summer.
We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary at the Lappans Road lodge during the week
of May 19 through May 25. We have lots in store for you during that week. We’ll have drink and food discounts, with special anniversary beer steins and mugs available for sale; a pavilion opening discounted $1.25 bargain night with live entertainment for the evening; special Sunday chicken buffet served 12:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a DJ to follow. You’re off Monday, Memorial Day, so come enjoy the day! It’s also a great week to sign up new members. Membership will be offered at a 25% savings during that week to help make our membership become even stronger. Closing out May is the membership picnic on the 31st-no better way to come be among friends and family.

An event not to be missed is the Flag Day flag retirement ceremony in the pavilion on June 14 at 1:00 p.m. We’ll have a guest speaker, help from many local Honor and Color Guards, the Red Men Flag Ritual Team with help of the Boy Scouts to give proper retirement to your worn flags. Bring your family and neighbors out for the function. Come early for music by the Williamsport Community Band.

Your House Committee has many events planned for the summer: bar bingo, bargain nights, DJ’s, bands, crab feeds, shrimp feed and the ever popular Cash Bash is back! Come out to support the club and thank the committee for all their hard work. Without them we would no have all these fun social events to enjoy.

Don’t forget to support the internal clubs. They have many activities planned. A golf tournament for Alzheimer's, horseshoe tournaments, Red Men Riders hog roast/bonanza, Nas-car trips, Dart League and Shuffleboard events. Check at the front desk and bulletin board to keep up with their events.

Our Pocahontas Council continues to grow stronger. Like the Tribe, we are always looking for our members to come to the meeting and get involved. Red Men Tribe meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7:00 p.m. and Red Feather Council meetings are on the 2nd and
4th Thursdays of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Once again, I call out to you for help. We can always use more volunteers. It’s a great way to meet new people while helping out YOUR Red Men Club. Without you, the members, the club would not be the success it is.

Please check the web site www.redmentribe84.com, the newsletter and emails to see what we have in store for YOU. I still invite your suggestions, complaints and compliments at my email address: redmen2014@aol.com.

Yours in Freedom, Friendship & Charity,
